Dr. Ali Talks About His Key Principles
In addition to being informed about your procedure, you should also ask additional key questions of your surgeon, including:
What are your qualifications, training and prior experience? Are you a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons? Is your degree from a reputable school? Do you have plastic surgery fellowship and residency experience? Are you qualified to handle my procedure, and if so how many have you personally performed?
What is your area of specialty? Do you specialize in in breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction and breast reconstruction? Is my procedure your area of expertise? Dr. Ali offers a complete list of cosmetic surgery procedures he specializes in, so you know about him before you meet him.
What hospital(s) do you operate of out of? Do you operate out of a reputable hospital in case of an emergency?
What are the risks and benefits of the procedure I want you to perform? Do you think I am a good candidate for this procedure, and if not, would you be willing to tell me that you do not recommend that I have the procedure done.
Can I see plastic surgery before and after pictures of your work? Can I view real examples of the changes I can expect to see?
Do you have plastic surgery referrals and the names of other patients who can tell me about their experience with plastic surgery? Can I talk to your prior patients about their personal experience with plastic surgery, and their experience with you and your staff?
Can you describe to me in detail what I can expect from the entire process, from pre-surgery through recovery? Will there be a lot of pain? How long is the recovery and is there someone I can call after if I have any questions?
Do you offer financing? Can I finance a plastic surgery procedure, or do I have to pay in full?
