Who Can Get a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Who Can Get a Brazilian Butt Lift?
Most individuals who are in good health are candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift to improve the appearance of their behind.
A Brazilian Butt Lift transfers your own fat cells (usually from the abdomen, “love handles,” back or thigh) to your behind area. Therefore, a good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift should be close to their ideal weight but have enough fat for liposuction.
The skin in the areas from which the fat will be removed needs to have good elasticity, as well, to avoid sagging after the liposuction.
There is not an age limit for a Brazilian Butt Lift, as long as you are in good health, with good skin elasticity. Many of our Brazilian Butt Lift patients have gotten the shapely “behind” they have always wanted with a Brazilian Butt Lift in their 40s, 50s and even 60s!
What If I Don’t Have Enough Body Fat for a Brazilian Butt Lift?
People who do not have enough fat to transfer – but are otherwise good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift – may in some cases need to gain 10 to 20 pounds prior to surgery.
However, if you are a very small, thin, or underweight individual with low levels of overall body fat, you may not be a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. In these cases, implants or Sculptra injections may be your only option for enlarging your behind.

Who Can’t get a Brazilian Butt Lift?
As with any cosmetic surgery, if you have any underlying heart or lung conditions, or neurological disorders, you may not be a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift. If you have any medical conditions, including diabetes, breathing problems or heart disease, it is important to consult with your personal doctor to determine if you are an eligible candidate for surgery.
Patients with anemia may need to take iron supplements and achieve a healthy blood count before any surgery – including a Brazilian Butt Lift.
Additionally, patients who are unable to adhere to the proper rest and recovery period after the surgery, should wait until they are in a position to recover before considering a Brazilian Butt Lift.

Pregnancy and Brazilian Butt Lifts
If a patient is pregnant or planning on getting pregnant in the near future, it is advised to wait until after giving birth and finishing breast feeding before undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift.
However, if you’re planning on having children several years down the road, should be able to have a Brazilian Butt Lift now. Neither the liposuction nor the fat transfer affects your fertility, and do not pose a risk to future pregnancies.
